I'm running my 6th Half Marathon on Oct. 9th with my friend Mia. She has never run a Half Marathon, so our only goal this time around is to finish and that will be an accomplishment in itself. I have been running with her for years, but she made a concerted effort and plan for running over the last 3 or 4 months. Currently, she has the pre-race jitters and anxiety. I take for granted that I have done some Half Marathon's already and don't get as nervous as I once did.
Thinking back I remember being so over whelmed on my first race that I cried at both the start and the finish. I am sure she'll enjoy it and finish with a smile on her face, but just in case...
Does anyone have any First Half Marathon advice or advice about dealing with race anxiety in general?

I hope your run went well with your friend. I can across your blog and I love it. I'll be watching for the follow up.
How did it go??
My husband and I both get prerace enxiety so I have promised myself that I'll NEVER race in the same race as him ever again. Not even different races on the same day. I'm doing Ironman Coeur d'Alene in June and he wanted to do it too but I vetoed that idea. He can do IM Canada a couple months later and we'll support each other.
